Life as a thalassophile: marine biology
at its finest

I have created this website to showcase my projects and adventures after moving to coastal North Wales to complete an MSci in Marine Biology. My aim is to share with you my experience studying marine biology at Bangor University, by using studies completed during my time at university, my photography of fauna and flora, and my own experiences. This site also delves into my personal life, as I display my art and creations in addition to my home zoo (2 dogs, chihuahua and a Staffordshire bull terrier mix, 2 African land snails, 3 checkered garter snakes, and a 102lt tropical planted aquarium containing glowlight tetras, adolfo Corydoras, ramshorn snails, and nerite snails).

Moving from urban to rural life is still one of the best decisions I have made. From the jaw-dropping scenery and the plethora of different habitats to the variety of ocean science experiences, moving to Wales proved to be one incredible experience.

Home: Welcome

A little about me

I'm a fourth year student at Bangor university, studying an MSci in marine biology. Some of my main experiences includes: handling and caring for a variety of species, microscopy and laboratory work, marine fauna identification and physiology, macro and micro photography, article writing, and Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's award. In addition to my academic side, I also have many personal interests that I pursue. I have a love for drawing, painting, and pressing flowers. I have a growing collection of shells, fossils, gemstones, bones, rocks, and anything else interesting that catches my eye. I'm also a keen aquarist with a 100lt planted tank, a snake keeper caring for 3 checkered garter snakes, an African land snail keeper, and the mother of two precious dogs. A mischievous chihuahua, Bambi... age is most likely to be 100, and a beautiful Staffordshire bull terrier mix, Tilly, who is not only a show stopper but the life of the party to.

My work is not only my passion, its my lifestyle.  And I hope I can encourage and teach you about the importance and wonderfulness of our oceans.
